Support Operation Hat Trick... Contributions to the Operation Hat Trick Fund which helps the recovery of wounded soldiers and veterans. Operation Hat Trick was founded by the University of New Hampshire, as a program that delivered hats to wounded soldiers in VA Medical Centers. The program is dedicated to the memory of Nate Hardy (son of a UNH professor and his wife) and Mike Koch-two Navy SEALS who fought together,died together and are buried together at Arlington National Cemetery. The name Operation Hat Trick comes from the initial focus on the donation of hats, benefit to the military, and UNH’s rich tradition in hockey.

Program Expansion—1122 Pilot Program
Section 885 of the Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2009 amended 10 U.S.C. 381, to expand the procurement authority under the 1122 Program beyond counter-drug activities, to include equipment for homeland security and emergency response activities.  The statute further specifies that any equipment to be used for homeland security activities must be included on the Authorized Equipment List published by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
